Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Three Shifts rotation
Knowledge and Experience
1. Time served engineer (HNC).
2. Must have a high degree of numerical ability.
3. Knowledge and application of safe working practices.
4. Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures.
5. Previous experience working within a team.
6. Knowledge of reading and interpreting computer blueprints, sketches, and process sheets is desirable.
7. Experience using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support the site in pursuing business objectives.
2. Ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
3. Ensure that quality, cost, and delivery are continually improved.
4. Ensure all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
5. Be flexible and adaptable including movement between work areas, overtime, and shift changes to support the site in case of unexpected absence or die backlog.
6. Rotate to any area within the inspection department as required, including: Hot Forge, Marking off, Pipe Shop, Die and Aircraft Template checking.
7. Carry out both simple and complex numerical computations involving decimals.
8. Inspect machining operations on various machines.
9. Carry out hot forge inspection of forged components and dies for setups.
10. Carry out black forge inspection of machined and pre-machined aircraft parts.
11. Set up jigs and fixtures for various machine shop operations.
12. Ensure high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping are met.
13. Conduct housekeeping audits across the unit if required.
14. Undertake daily forklift truck and crane checks.
15. Apply fault finding and problem-solving skills relating to manufacture and equipment failure to continually improve processes.
