Senior Clinical Psychologist
Location: Llanelli
Salary: Band 8A £53,755 - £60,504 per annum DOE FTE

MAIN PURPOSE
To work as part of a multi/inter disciplinary team, providing clinical psychology and neuropsychology input within the BIRT neurobehavioural model to service users with acquired brain injury. You will lead in ensuring the neurobehavioural model of rehabilitation is delivered through multi/inter disciplinary working. You will consult with internal and external professionals, family members and service users. You will engage in relevant research and advise other professionals as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide specialist psychological assessment and neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury referred to BIRT and related services, utilising and interpreting information from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service users care.
2. To complete pre-admission assessments, highly developing specialist, collaborative and holistic neurobehavioural formulations of an individuals rehabilitation needs, including the development of SMART goals.
3. To coordinate Service Users care as appropriate and agreed with your supervisor, in the role of keyworker/clinical lead.
4. To be responsible for relevant data collection on work activities, as required.
5. To formulate and implement plans of highly specialist psychological and/or neuropsychological intervention to support the neurobehavioural rehabilitation of adults with acquired brain injury as part of the multi/inter disciplinary team, based on current evidence-based best practice.
6. To undertake a range of psychological therapeutic and rehabilitation interventions, drawing on a range of psychological models and employing a range of modalities (individual, family, group) adapted and tailored to the needs of the individual and the context and ongoing evaluation of the outcomes of the intervention.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in Psychology accepted by BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or its equivalent to meet requirements to register as a practitioner psychologist with the HCPC.
* Registered with the HCPC
* Demonstrate an interest in clinical neuropsychology.
* General knowledge of acquired brain injury pathology, neuroanatomy, symptoms, characteristics, course of recovery and rehabilitation approaches.
* This includes but is not limited to traumatic brain injury, cerebrovascular disease and understanding the different types of strokes, encephalopathy, hypoxic brain injury, amongst others.
* Relevant experience in producing clinical reports.
* At least 2 years experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical area.
* Working within a multi/inter disciplinary team, supporting team processing and promoting psychological thinking within team formulations and goal setting.
