We are currently seeking a Construction Manager based in Newcastle, who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, programming, and execution of construction projects. This individual will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Responsibilities: Pre-Contract: Provide input into the preparation of estimates and tenders, including site visits. Review tenders with the operations team as necessary. Participate in tender adjudication meetings. Plan and program work efficiently. Identify and develop value engineering (V.E.) opportunities both pre- and post-contract. Participate in the preparation of necessary documents for inclusion in tender submissions. Attend post-tender interviews. Post-Contract: Adhere to Safety First Guiding Principles. Ensure each contract is properly planned and programmed. Implement production and commercial procedures across all projects. Prepare contract budgets in conjunction with the profit center surveyor, monitoring performance, and acting to improve and meet MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) standards. Ensure the implementation of all company safety, health, environmental, and quality procedures, maintaining statutory compliance across all projects. Develop contract programs with the Site Manager, ensuring necessary resources are in place and establishing the sequence and timing of operations for work completion. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management. Proven experience in planning, programming, and executing construction projects. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Professional certifications in project management or construction management (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus. Strong knowledge of construction procedures, contract law, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
