Role Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key player in the project lifecycle, involved from the initial site survey through to contract completion. Your expertise will be crucial in managing commercial agreements, overseeing subcontractor packages, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive site surveys to establish the scope of work. - Negotiate and manage commercial agreements with clients and subcontractors. - Manage subcontractor packages and orders efficiently. - Participate in client meetings to ensure alignment on project goals. - Prepare interim valuations and price various project components. - Administer framework projects and perform contract reviews. We specialise in the refurbishment and construction of: · Pubs · Restaurants · Bars · Fitness clubs/ Gyms etc · Hotels · Schools and offices Candidate Profile: We are looking for a dedicated professional with a proven track record in Quantity Surveying in the construction industry. Experience in public sector procurement is a significant advantage, and candidates must be able to pass security vetting for Police & Prison Service projects. This is a full-time, permanent role offering stability and the opportunity to grow with the business. We are looking for an experienced motivated QS/ estimator to work from our office based in Cowbridge for a long term permanent full-time position. With a can-do positive attitude, who will be fully responsible for tendering projects. The position includes refurbishment/ shopfitting work as well as new build work with contract values typically between £50K - £5M nationwide. The ideal candidate: · Will have excellent communication skills · Will have extensive knowledge and experience of all tendering procedures · Will be able to take off drawings to formulate BOQ if required (usually provided) · Will be able to take off drawings for materials and sub-contractor packages · Prepare enquiries to the supplier chain or open market · Work with XL SOQ/BOQ/Workbooks and format for tendering procedures · Arrange and run tender review meeting with the team to discuss commercial decisions. · Will be reliable and punctual · Will be clean and presentable · Have a can-do positive attitude · Willing to do occasional overtime if tender/workload dictates. Day to day work consists of some of the following; · Taking off drawings and formulating schedules of work / BOQ · Compiling and sending tender enquiries to subcontractors · Estimating - including building up of rates to form prices · Printing drawings and keeping project drawing files updated with latest issues · Compiling and issue RFI forms · Finding new subcontractors within local work areas · Placing orders with subcontractors · Formulating site manager files and documents including updates throughout · Putting together site meeting reports for contracts managers · Progressing and chasing collateral warranties for design work elements · Site measuring of works during site meetings for variations · Site measuring of works during site meetings for valuations · Checking site meeting minutes for GOS actions · Negotiation of final accounts with joinery. · Chasing final accounts from subcontractors to include into our F/A Salary to be negotiated based on experience Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £50,000 - £56,000 Per annum Benefits: On-site parking Pension Schedule: Day shift Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week.
