The UKs overall contribution to the AUKUS Programme our requires changes to and delivery by a range of UK national programmes, as well as changes to the policy and enabling environment across legal, security, regulation, commercial, export controls and intellectual property. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the UK AUKUS Programme Director to realise the necessary UK changes and national programme contributions to achieve AUKUS outcomes, as well as supporting the management of this high complexity programme. They will represent the UK AUKUS Programme in UK national programme sponsorship boards, wider DNE governance bodies, as well as the UK in trilateral governance structures. The Programme Strategy Deputy Head will provide overall sponsorship of these changes to ensure that UK national programme delivery supports the UKs AUKUS commitments. They will work internationally with the US and Australia to ensure a consistent understanding of the UKs contributions to AUKUS, and coherence with equivalent Australian and US contributions. They will promote a culture of openness and collaboration and build strong stakeholder relationships for successful delivery. They will work closely with the PDOs Programme Integration and Policy teams to define and deliver the necessary UK changes; to monitor progress of the UK national programme contributions; and to manage risks, opportunities and issues arising in their delivery. They will work with the national programme sponsorship and delivery teams to ensure coherence and that dependencies are understood and actively managed. Flexible and condensed working patterns can be considered for this post but due to security constraints and the requirement to travel for the role, it is not suitable for hybrid working. This is a newly established post where the requirement to deliver the necessary outcomes at pace make this unsuitable for either part time working or job share.
