Hays has partnered with a leading manufacturing company. We are looking for a Payroll Assistant for 3 months, offering hybrid work for 2 days in the office, then 3 days from home. We need someone who is immediately available.
Payroll Assistant Responsibilities
1. Gathering and Examining Timesheets:
Reviewing timesheets to verify their validity and accuracy.
Ensuring that employee work hours are correctly recorded.
2. Entering Start and End Times:
Inputting start and end times into the payroll software.
Capturing approved annual and sick leave data.
3. Calculating Compensation:
Calculating compensation for overtime work at the appropriate rate.
Ensuring annual leave is accurately calculated, if applicable.
4. Deductions Processing:
Confirming that legally-mandated and optional deductions (such as taxes, insurance, and retirement contributions) have been processed correctly.
5. Paycheck Preparation:
Preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks to employees.
6. Timely Execution:
Performing all tasks well before the pay run to ensure employees are compensated and notified on time.
7. Addressing Queries:
Assisting employees with payroll-related inquiries.
Resolving discrepancies in payments promptly.
