Regional Sales Manager - South England
Reports to Sales Director UK. We are looking for a motivated and energetic hunter sales/business development individual to take on the sales responsibility for all territory across the South of England. Job Purpose
Field based position responsible for identifying, generating and growing new flow control/fluid equipment sales opportunities whilst managing existing customers in a defined territory in the UK. Prime focus on selling to End Users and EPC contractors MRO and Automation products within the UK's downstream refinery, petrochemical and Top Tier industrial markets. Significant travel is required to meet customer engagement demand, with frequent interaction with the sales offices and management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)
Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation;
1. Identify, establish and develop new project customers and MRO and Automation opportunities;
2. Explore, generate and win new business by conferring with potential customers at all levels and departments to determine equipment, supplies and service needs;
3. Represent the company professionally by maintaining a positive, customer centric relationship with new and historical clients;
4. Develop existing long term customer relationships, constantly reviewing their needs to identify opportunity to increase revenue;
5. Liaise with the Sales Director, General Sales Manager and office Sales manager(s) to create and implement a sales and marketing business plan for the account base;
6. Liaise proactively with cross functional teams to achieve and exceed customer expectations, including other external sales colleagues, internal sales, finance and operations;
7. Prepare and issue weekly call plans and visit reports;
8. Share feedback on customer and competitor activity, identifying and communicating opportunities and threats;
9. Update CRM, ERP and other business tools as required in a timely manner in accordance with business process;
10. Prepare and issue monthly forecast information as required by management;
11. Attend and contribute to regular sales meetings as required;
12. Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job.
Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
1. At least five years external sales / account management experience with a successful track record of profitable sales.
2. In depth technical knowledge of flow control & process equipment is highly advantageous.
3. Experience in the oil and gas industry, petrochemical, chemical and energy industries is desirable.
4. Strong commercial acumen.
5. Self-motivated sales driven individual with a strong desire and ability to meet targets and close deals.
6. Ability to negotiate at all levels, and manage the most demanding customers.
7. Able to prioritise with good time management skills to maximise working week.
8. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal with strong presentation skills.
9. Excellent influencing skills.
10. Able to develop strong internal & external relationships, including remotely.
11. Able to work independently in the field whilst forming an integral part of the team.
12. Change agile, able to respond positively to fast paced changes in the business environment.
13. Driving license is essential.
14. Computer literate - ideally experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
