Overview
As part of our continued support to our customer in the space sector, we are looking for a Materials and Processes Engineer to join us on a permanent or contract basis. The salary/rate is negotiable based on experience and seniority. The role will be based at our customer’s facility in Stevenage and may involve shift work for which a premium will be paid.
We are now looking for a lab technician to provide cover to the Materials Laboratory within the M&P domain in Stevenage. The main work of this package is to ensure lab KPIs for various turnaround times are met by performing various testing as required, ensuring safety and quality at all times.

The job holder will be engaged in a wide variety of laboratory activities covering all areas of lab testing work, so lab experience is essential and clean room experience is highly desirable for this role.

Responsibilities
Activities definition:
* Generating and updating Declared Materials, Processes and Mechanical Parts lists
* Running and attending Materials and Process Control Boards
* Writing qualification/test plans
* Generating qualification schedules
* Writing RDWRs (Research and Development Work Requests) and managing the RDWR activities in line with the qualification schedule
* Writing qualification reports
* Completing materials and process related investigations into anomalies (including understanding root causes and implementing actions to resolve the anomalies)
* Generating documentation such as RFA, RFD/RFW
* Supporting design reviews
* Generation and updating of process specifications
* Generation and updating of procurement/acceptance specifications
* Generation of technical memos
* Supporting technical meetings
* Observing processes and activities in the materials laboratory and in the AIT facilities
* Supporting improvement activities in line with company processes
* Providing technical support
Qualifications
* HNC or HND in engineering/maintenance OR Apprenticeship in Aerospace/Space or other high-quality production field, similar laboratory based qualifications.
Essential skills
* A good understanding of laboratory analyst activities that align with the main tasks as listed.
* Experience with testing methodologies.
* Knowledge of testing.
