At Next we have a brilliant opportunity for an Nursery Apprentice to join our onsite Nursery at our Head Office in Enderby!
During your Apprenticeship you will gain the skills and knowledge to become a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner. You will be a part of creating a high quality and caring environment for children. This includes creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
You will:
1. Complete college assignments on time.
2. Attend team meetings and contribute with ideas.
3. Work under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
4. Assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
5. Provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
6. Be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy.
7. Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
8. Attend ALL out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings sports day, Christmas party, etc.
9. Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in Nursery.
10. Undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee’s supervisor from time to time.
11. Look upon the nursery as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
12. Ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
13. Uphold its standards at all times.
14. Be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
15. Be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
About you:
16. Qualification in Maths and English
17. Knowledge, understanding and practical experience of day care for young children and the EYFS curriculum
18. Awareness of purposeful planning for children in day care settings
19. Ability to communicate confidently with a parents/carers
20. Able to work independently and to manage own time efficiently
21. Understanding of the role of the key person
22. Pro-active and self-motivated
23. Committed to giving children and families the opportunity to reach their full potential
24. Ability to use initiative
25. Calm under pressure
26. Excellent organisational and time keeping skills.
27. Passionate and enthusiastic about development in early years
28. Able to keep accurate records
29. Numerate and able to complete Key Skills in Application of Number at Level 1
30. Able to implement high health and safety standards
Shift : Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm
