About the Role:
Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 (SEND). This exciting role will primarily involve working with a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEND), mainly on a one-to-one basis in the classroom, and occasionally in group settings, as well as during break and lunchtime. You will play a vital role in supporting the student to achieve beyond expectations, promoting positive behaviour, and encouraging full participation in academy life. The position will also involve providing personal care and manual handling support.
The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and class teacher to ensure that the pupil's needs are met, helping them to make meaningful progress. They are particularly looking for someone with a specialism or keen interest in speech, language, and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the class teacher in delivering effective teaching and learning to SEND pupils, particularly one-on-one or in small groups.
* Model appropriate behaviour and encourage pupil participation during lessons, lunchtimes, and breaks.
* Assist in the development and delivery of tailored learning experiences to make learning exciting and memorable.
* Provide personal care and support with manual handling as required.
* Work closely with other staff to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting SEND pupils, especially those with complex needs.
* Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in the SEND field.
