The Role

British Vogue seeks a passionate and knowledgeable Beauty Shopping Writer to expand and optimize the brand's beauty content for the Vogue Shopping commerce team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for shopping across various verticals—fashion, gifting, makeup, skincare, haircare, wellness—and a strong interest in beauty products.

The candidate will focus on growing affiliate revenue through beauty buying guides, writing new review features, covering product launches, sales events like Black Friday, and optimizing existing content for SEO and affiliate success. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to create video content are essential, along with the ability to analyze traffic and conversion data to inform future content strategies.

This role involves close collaboration with editorial, creative, audience development, and data analytics teams to meet revenue and profit objectives.


Responsibilities

1. Pitch, write, and optimize weekly buying guides (approx. 8 per week), ensuring content aligns with Vogue’s brand and editorial perspective.
2. Manage a long-term beauty market editorial calendar to feature evergreen, SEO, seasonal, and trending shopping content to increase revenue.
3. Plan and strategize around editorial categories, SEO keywords, and seasonal events, leveraging data and insights.
4. Coordinate with commerce, audience development, and editorial teams to share data and best practices.
5. Stay updated on beauty trends, industry innovations, product launches, and feed ideas to the wider teams.
6. Monitor online retailers for deals relevant to the British Vogue audience.
7. Manage beauty coverage of major sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday.
8. Collaborate on promoting product and commerce content via social media, newsletters, and franchise opportunities.
9. Coordinate freelancers, including commissioning notes and invoices.
10. Work with shopping editors and partnership teams on content for Vogue Shopping and commercial partnerships.
11. Represent Vogue at beauty market events, building relationships with brands and tastemakers.
