A day in the life of a Murphy Plant Operations Manager
To ensure all Legal, Safety & Financial Murphy Plant disciplines are carried out.
Develop and safeguard a high-performing team within location/region.
Responsibility for day to day running of the operation at the location/region.
Responsibility for Profit & Loss account within the location/region.
Comprehensive management of all Human Capital activity within the location/region ensuring complete compliance to Group HC processes.
Overall SHESQ responsibly for the location/region.
Drive asset availability and utilisation whilst upholding quality.
Ownership and continuous improvement of customer experience with the location/region.
Create a culture of planning ahead with the operational team.
Asset Management -ensure that the location/region assets are stored in a safe and effective manner and drive optimum utilisation of assets in conjunction with the Asset Manager.
Report regularly (by exception) to the Head of Operations (Northern or Southern).
To arrange and attend monthly Murphy Plant (Northern or Southern) management meetings and subsequently promptly complete all actions agreed.n.
To be responsible for all operational roles within the location/region and responsibility of P&L
Consider commercial efficiencies within the location/region to increase profitability.
Improve customer experience ensuring that JMS are recognised as the Murphy Plant client and are serviced in line with best practice customer service.
Develop succession management and attract new talent and plan for the future of the location/region in regards to people.

Thorough knowledge of Plant, Machinery, and Transport.
Experience within a construction/engineering or similar background
Strong working knowledge of technical experience with Plant & Machinery.
Ability to read, interpret and influence a P&L account proactively.
Good level Construction/Infrastructure industry contacts with the ability to call upon external experience and assistance.
Experience of managing people and developing talent
