Job summary Berry Lane Medical Centre are looking to appoint a full time Pharmacy Technician to join our Practice team. We are seeking an experienced individual who wants to personally develop, whilst making a significant difference to our Practice and the patients that we look after. The post will be full time and will be based at Berry Lane, working with patients registered with Berry Lane Medical Centre, this is not a network shared role Main duties of the job The successful applicant will take an active involvement in all the prescribing functions within the Practice. You will be working with our GPs, Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic colleagues who are all prescribers at the Practice. We also have a full time medicines manager and you will work closely with them. We have the benefit of an ICB based pharmacy support team and you actively liaise with this team. We have successfully implemented the Community Pharmacy Consultation Scheme and the successful candidate will take the lead in working with the local community pharmacies to ensure the continued benefits that this service brings to our patients. The Pharmacy Technician will support our practice to deliver safe and efficient systems for repeat prescribing and medicines optimisation. You will support the team with Structured Medication Reviews. You will also assist with discharge medication changes, ensuring that ongoing prescriptions are accurate. There will also be ongoing audits, and you will be the lead practice contact for prescribing safety reporting measures. The Pharmacy Tech role responsibilities will cover clinical, technical and administration categories. Computer literacy with Office programmes and an understanding of our Emis clinical system and Eclipse would be an advantage.
