My Life Legacy was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the North West of England. Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people’s lives, in return we put significant investment in our employees.
Your Responsibilities
You will be supporting a young man with Cerebral Palsy, who is a wheelchair user and requires full support to live his best life. He lives in his own home, so your role will include supporting him with all personal care, household chores, accessing his local community, and attending events such as concerts and the theatre. He has a good sense of humour, a caring nature, and interests in Media, IT, Football, and Film. As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence.
What you'll need to Succeed
To succeed, you will be kind-hearted and interested in making a positive difference in this young man’s life, enabling him to access the community. You will have experience working as a Support Worker / Personal Assistant. You will be self-motivated, flexible, and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. A full driving licence is required, and experience supporting people with a learning disability and with PEG feeding is desirable.

The salary will be up to £14.01 per hour, depending upon experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
