About the Role:
Aspire People are working in partnership with a well-established primary school in Melton Mowbray to find a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant. This full-time role will involve providing tailored support across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) classrooms. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a UK primary school setting, working with children to support their academic, social, and emotional development.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to ensure that all students, including those with additional learning needs, are given the support they need to succeed. You will assist with the delivery of lesson content, provide 1:1 support, and contribute to the overall school environment, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class support for students in both KS1 and KS2, assisting with learning activities and supporting children with additional needs.
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning plans for students, focusing on their academic and personal development.
Offer 1:1 or small group support for students with specific learning needs.
Assist in maintaining a positive and focused classroom environment by helping with behaviour management and student engagement.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
Support the broader school community by assisting with extracurricular activities and school events as required.
Essential Criteria:
Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role within a UK primary school is essential. Applications from candidates without this experience will not be considered.
Experience working with students across both KS1 and KS2.
A current DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children with a range of learning needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A passion for supporting children's learning and development in an inclusive setting.
