979GRE Quantity Surveyor Hinkley Point C, Somerset Permanent, Full-time £55,000 Annual Salary plus car/travel allowance Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Description & Background: We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team at Hinkley Point C, the UK's first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to UK NetZero targets. The role provides commercial management and contract administration support to the Project Team and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed while maintaining collaborative relationships with clients and supply chain partners. Principal Responsibilities: Support tender and estimating processes commercially Review contract conditions and participate in contract negotiations Protect business position while working collaboratively with clients and supply chain Produce cost reports, forecasts, and client valuations/applications for payment Manage change processes, including variation identification and assessment Administer supply chain relationships, including subcontract management Prepare monthly budgets, forecasts, and commercial reports Assist in dispute resolution and final account preparations Attend site walks to review and agree certifications Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and supply chain Ensure compliance with company commercial policies and procedures Required Qualifications & Experience: Formal qualification in Quantity Surveying (desirable) Relevant professional accreditation (desirable) Minimum 3 years' demonstrable experience in construction industry Experience managing multiple subcontractors Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC Suite of Contracts Experience with cost management systems (Navision, Oracle, SAP, ERP, Coins etc.) desirable Proven experience communicating with senior management and clients Essential Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and negotiation abilities Analytical and evaluation skills Leadership and motivation capabilities Commercial awareness Accurate with good attention to detail Ability to work in high-pressure environments Proactive approach with strong time management Salary, Location & Details: Site-based at Hinkley Point C with occasional work in Aztec West/Bristol Office 9-day fortnight pattern Permanent, Full-time position £55,000 Annual Salary plus car/travel allowance This role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a prestigious nuclear construction project while working for a leading energy services company.
