Senior Support Worker
Daisy Nook Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a privately run residential service for children (8-17 years old), with homes throughout Cheshire. Their homes are for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our client is looking for Senior Support Workers for their home in Widnes, Cheshire. The role is full time and permanent.
The hourly rate is between GBP13.78 - GBP14.12 per hour and you will be working on a rota basis, weekends will be included.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Support Worker
1. To lead the shift and oversee the Support Workers.
2. To work with children and young people according to the individuals needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.
3. To assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.
4. To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of those looked after.
5. Training & Development.
6. Administration and report writing.
7. Ensure security of the House, including contents, confidential records, cash, keys, furniture and equipment, residents clothing and possessions.
8. To assist the Manager in attending to the health of the children, arranging medical and dental examinations, and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the home.
9. Participate in training courses as arranged and undertake professional training if the opportunity is offered through secondment.
10. Observe confidentiality at all times in relation to the Home and its residents, recognising the vulnerability of the residents.
Must have:
1. Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, or a minimum of 2 years as a Support Worker, within a children's residential home.
2. Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NVQ Level 3.
3. Knowledge of child care legislation & regulations, human growth and development.
4. Assessment & care planning process.
5. Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire Regulations.
6. Basic understanding of Children's Rights.
