Dermatology CNS for Inflammatory Skin Disease and Biologics
NHS AfC: Band 7
Job overview
We are looking to expand our nursing team for Dermatology services and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced dermatology specialist nurse to work within a team of skilled dermatology team members, delivering a high standard of evidence-based clinical care to patients and their carers as part of the inflammatory skin disease nursing service. The role will involve delivering biologics and drug monitoring screening and follow-up clinics.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will contribute to the development of our multi-disciplinary specialist dermatology service and who has a commitment to continued personal development. The post holder will have shared responsibility for leadership and management of junior staff in the specialist nursing team.
Dermatology is a very busy specialty, providing care to around 550 adult and paediatric patients per week, working alongside experienced colleagues across multi-disciplinary teams with the goal of providing the best care for our patients.
We are very proud of the services we provide to our patients and we would be keen to hear from enthusiastic applicants who want to help us keep providing excellent care and improving the services we offer.
If you are interested in the role and wish to find out more about this opportunity, we encourage you to arrange a visit where you could meet the team and discuss the role further.
Main duties of the job
* To support the safe delivery of the nurse-led inflammatory skin disease service for patients who need to access systemic and biologic therapies.
* To work closely with all members of the multi-professional team to ensure that patients receive seamless dermatology care within the Trust.
* To provide specialist advice to support the assessment, planning, and implementation of patients' care, and where appropriate deliver programmes of care.
* To support the Biologics patient helpline.
* To provide prescribing support to manage biologic prescriptions.
* To competently carry out specialist nursing procedures.
* To contribute to specialist education and training programmes for other staff.
* To contribute to team leadership and management of staff.
Working for our organisation
The service is located within the centre of the hospital site in a dedicated department. The department offers seven clinic rooms, two theatres, and a phototherapy unit. We offer a range of clinics led by both consultants and specialist nurses.
We have recently implemented an AI Teledermatology service and are currently developing a service to offer biologics treatments to our Bolton population in the very near future.
