Forklift Driver Required Our client is an award-winning, family-run business based in Roydon, Essex, on the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire. Your role will be critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of produce within their facility. Key Responsibilities: Material Handling: Efficiently supply the packhouse with crates, pallets, and produce, ensuring timely availability as requested by the Production Manager. Rotation Management: Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) principles when moving produce, unless otherwise directed. Product Dispatch: Safely transport finished goods to the dispatch area, ensuring they are ready for loading. Loading & Unloading: Handle the loading and unloading of vehicles, verifying load sheets and manifests for accuracy. Forklift Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily checks on your forklift, report any damages or repairs needed, and ensure safety protocols are always followed. Cleanliness & Upkeep: Ensure forklifts are clean, charged, and well-maintained, conducting weekly wipe-downs and cleaning tasks. Waste Management: Regularly empty packhouse waste skips into the larger skip, ensuring it is securely covered. Special Tasks: Assist with special assignments as directed by the Production or Technical Manager. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all times on site. Promote safety in all aspects of forklift operation. What they're Looking For: A responsible and experienced forklift driver with a strong sense of safety and efficiency. A team player who can work independently and contribute positively to the team. Someone with good timekeeping and a proactive approach to their work. The role is 6 days per week and there is a 2 week rotation on shifts between an early (6.45am - 4pm) and late (9.30/10am-finish). Finish times are dependent on when last lorries are expected, usually this is no later than 6.30pm. They are offering a starting daily rate of £105 per day, reviewed after 12 weeks successful probation.
