Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in our Transport Infrastructure team and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll lead the delivery of new systems, innovation, and solutions. This is about being visionary, connecting people and communities, and creating opportunities for everyone, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.
Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering designs, drawings, information, calculations, and enhancements that keep vital, innovative, and big-budget projects moving. You’ll ensure assets are safe, working, and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
You will be ready to take on the position of Senior Engineer in Highways and Traffic. It is expected that you have expert knowledge of Traffic Engineering and will report to a Senior Engineering Leader in Highways and Traffic.
You will be degree qualified or have substantial relevant experience in an engineering discipline related to Traffic Engineering. As a Senior Engineer, you will need to demonstrate TfL competencies and proficiency in designing and technically assuring traffic engineering schemes. Your experience should focus on urban traffic engineering schemes, and you will be a highly competent technical lead, able to communicate complex technical matters to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form. You’ll know the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and have worked on Healthy Street schemes and/or other complex traffic engineering projects. You will have significant experience in providing professional advice and assurance, a strong knowledge of national and local technical standards and legislation, and a proven track record of delivering schemes.
The more teams and projects you’ve led, the better. It’s equally important you bring a passion for the TfL Vision and strategy. Wherever you join us, you’ll explore work of unparalleled scale, scope, and variety across a unique range of projects, as you build your career and expertise. So come and bring on tomorrow, as a Senior Engineer at TfL.
