Job Description Location: York Campus Salary Range: £29,787 - £32,552 (SP 26 to 29) Department: Inclusive Learning About the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and inspirational Foundation Learning Lecturer to join our Inclusive Learning Department at our York Campus. We are looking for a motivated individual to deliver engaging and practical lessons for students with high needs SEND, focusing on entry levels 1 to 3. As a Foundation Learning Lecturer, you will teach a range of topics, including independent living, employability skills, and animal care, both in practical settings and classroom environments. You will collaborate closely with the curriculum team to maintain high standards and drive quality within the study programme, ensuring all students' needs are met. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Lead and manage specific courses as required. Ensure compliance with study programme requirements and quality assurance standards. Support curriculum planning, manage department budgets, and organise marketing events. Represent the department and build strong relationships with partner schools, employers, and other educational organisations. Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Management: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons, starting with 860 contact hours per academic year. Implement and support teaching, learning, and assessment policies. Manage teaching responsibilities, including covering classes as needed. Personal Development, Behaviour & Welfare Management: Implement student disciplinary policies and support CPD activities. Manage work placement programmes and student appraisals. Person Specification: Qualifications: Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant subject; teaching qualification; Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy; D32/D33/D34 or A/V Units (Desirable). Experience: Proven experience with learners with SEND, a track record of outstanding support, and knowledge of innovative teaching methods. Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexibly, under pressure, and as part of a team. Attributes: Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively. Additional Information: Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS): High level required. Working Hours: May include some evenings and occasional weekends. Driving Licence: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
