Main Job Purpose
We are seeking Site Operatives/Engineers to work alongside our existing team to complete Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Structural engineering surveys, guided by the expertise of our engineering team. The individuals will have a focus on growth, quality output and be highly organised and practical. Health and Safety will be at the forefront of decision making and planning.
Working with our team of Senior Engineers and Directors, you will be supporting our next stage of growth, assisting existing survey team members and training new members once experienced with our survey process, growing in your role with a clear path into leading our survey & minor works installation teams as the business develops.
Location: UK wide, ideally based in South East / South West Regions
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Support/undertake detailed mechanical, electrical & civils site surveys and installation works in line with current industry and/or environmental standards, including concrete coring, testing, reinforcement scanning, masonry coring, strength testing, fracture monitoring, trial pits, WAC testing, CCTV surveys, dye testing, structural surveys, and hidden critical element surveys.
2. Produce reports following legislation, standards, quality assurance, and company administration policies and procedures.
3. Support undertaking of electrical installation testing and/or commissioning for small to medium scale projects in the rail environment.
4. Work collaboratively as part of the survey team to support company objectives, including implementation of technical standards in line with survey and design deliverables.
5. Communicate efficiently and effectively with company directors, team managers, peers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current mechanical, electrical, civils & railway standards and legislation.
7. Prepare survey schedules within tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
8. Support company objectives and compliance towards health and safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
9. Proficient in Office 365 and capable of operating CAD resources to assist in the development of layout drawings and schematics.
10. Maintain a flexible approach towards travel and working hours, particularly in the rail environment.
11. Support successful completion of internal & external audits by adhering to company policies and guidance from the compliance department.
Minimum Competencies Required
1. 3D Laser scanning / Point Cloud Processing (preferable).
2. Obtain / Maintain PTS certification.
3. Obtain / Maintain CSCS certification.
4. Cat & Genny Operator (preferable).
5. Pasma User (preferable).
6. IPAF User (preferable).
7. Knowledge & use of AutoCAD to produce survey drawings and schematics would be beneficial.
8. Electrical qualification will be beneficial, but not mandatory.
Required Previous Experience
1. 2+ years’ mechanical, electrical, civils or structural experience, ideally within the Rail sector.
2. Previous installation, testing and commissioning experience would be beneficial.
3. Full clean UK driving licence is a must.
