Job summary
Thepurpose of the Central Admin hub is to encourage a collaborative environment oflearning and innovation within a single geographical location supporting agroup of GP practices
Effectiveand efficient administration is vitally important to help patients to move ontothe next step in their healthcare journey safely and to provide them withaccess to the right information about their health when they need it.
Thisis achieved by the effective handling (and standardisation) of clinicaldocumentation, patients paper records and parts of the registration process,non-NHS private work related to the patient as well as other administrativetasks. This administration should be processed in a timely, safe, and efficientmanner, following set protocols, ensuring that medical records are kept up todate.
Up to full time hours ( per week available on a permanent basis, part time or full time availble. Working pattern to be discussed at interview.
The rate of pay is £ - £ per hour depending on experience, with a NHS or Nest Pension offered.
Interviews will be held on Monday 14th or Thursday 17th October.
Main duties of the job
1. Process practice correspondence (paper, electronic and email) attaching it to the patient record, read coding accurately diagnosis, procedures, and investigations, identifying and carrying out actions, using the most current protocols and processes available
2. Identify the complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team, including safeguarding issues and working to the agreed practice protocols.
3. Processing Lab results within EMIS, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures, ensuring safe and effective practice. Working closely with clinical leads if and when required to provide a safe and high-quality service to the practice
4. Partake in training sessions for, and be competent in the summarising of patients Lloyd George medical records and supporting registration processes, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures
5. Partake in training sessions for, and be competent in in the completion of correspondence relating to non-NHS private work, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures
6. Receive feedback positively on your own performance and the teams performance.
7. Both through the GP Lead(s) and directly, work closely with practice administrators and clinical teams to ensure that a safe and high-quality service for the practice is provided.

15. Work to an agreed workplan for the assigned tasks, following the agreed timeframes. Ensure that any shortfalls in capacity or increases in demand are escalated so that any administrative tasks are processed within the agreed timescales.

17. Be flexible in approach to work and demonstrate a willingness to support other areas of the business administratively as directed.
Person Specification
Experience
Essential
18. You will have experience in an administrative role in general practice or in a healthcare environment.
19. You will have a good knowledge of medical terminology and preferably Read coding, although training will be given.
20. Ability to process varying types of correspondence including letters of a high complexity and containing risk issues and identified accurately and taken action.
21. Ability to adapt to use different software systems for varying administrative tasks and/or have the capacity to be trained
22. Established experience with successful audits of your work with good knowledge of medical terminology read coding and completion of all administration tasks required or the capacity to be fully trained in these areas
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
23. Good knowledge of Information Governance and Data Protection
24. Good working knowledge and experience of patient clinical systems and how they are used in General Practice or other primary care or community services.
25. Knowledge and preferably experience of General Practice and the environment and challenges they currently face.
26. Demonstrate the ability to plan and organise yourself using your own initiative and understanding when you need to escalate to ensure you meet the required safety and time standards.
27. Intermediate knowledge or Word and Excel. You will have fast and accurate keyboard skills to RSA III or equivalent.
28. Ability to process correspondence including letters, Clinical documents, registration information of a high complexity and containing risk issues and identified accurately and taken action.
29. Curiosity to identify potential improvements and an ability to support with trials
30. Attention to detail in the reading of correspondence of all types and data entry.
Desirable
31. Knowledge and previous use of EMIS.
32. Knowledge and previous experience in dealing with non-NHS private work and/or have the capacity to be trained
33. Knowledge of summarising and registration processes and/or the capacity to be trained
34. Knowledge of Lab results processing or the capacity to be trained
