Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join Northumberland's Emotional Wellbeing Support Team (NEWST) located in Northumberland's Children Social Care, providing a specialist child and adolescent Trauma informed mental health service.
NEWST is part of a wider provision of children and young people's mental health services delivered by CNTW. NEWST clinicians support the understanding of a child or young person's presentation in the context of their lived experience as reflected in the Trauma Informed Care principles.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have extensive experience working with Children and Young People in Mental Health services (community/inpatient) and with those who have experienced significant trauma. Experience with statutory Social Care services and/or Early help provisions is also required.
The post holder will need experience of working across partner organisations and agencies and demonstrate experience of working autonomously and as part of a team. Flexibility in approach and the ability to support across the Northumberland locality are essential.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will offer advice and guidance, multi-agency consultations/formulations, training, and reflective practice. You will have experience working with children and young people with complex presentations, mental health difficulties, and neurodiverse presentations.
Knowledge of local services would be advantageous to help navigate access and system support. This post will be based within County Hall, Morpeth, with a remit across Northumberland.
Person specification
Education and Qualification
* First Level Registered Nurse RNMH, RMN, RNLD or equivalent qualification (e.g., Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist).
* Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in evidence-based treatments relevant to Pathway.
* ENB 998/P126/127 Student Assessor.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience in Mental Health services for Children and young people and their families.
* Experience of working in a Trauma Informed approach.
* Experience in managing complex cases and presenting risk.
Skills and Competencies
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict management.
* Evidence of maintaining accurate record keeping and report writing.
* Ability to develop and deliver training.
