The Role:
As our new Category Manager for Electrical & Solar PV, you’ll develop and deliver a market leading product range for the Category proposition to enable us to compete and maximise our share of the Electrical & Solar PV market. You’ll also deliver the commercial business targets for the Category in terms of margin, revenue, terms improvements and customer acquisition, through great supplier relationships, innovative proposition development and execution through branches and sales teams.
You will drive innovation within the category and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. This role requires strategic thinking and a deep understanding of energy efficiency technologies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and deliver a market leading category strategy for Electrical & Solar PV, including proposition, pricing, and promotional plans.
* Review and report weekly on trading performance, identifying areas of opportunity or concern and taking timely action to resolve issues.
* Network with your supplier base and maintain regular contact with stakeholders to meet category and commercial team requirements.
* Ensure optimum routes to market for each channel and maintain stock health in conjunction with supply chain teams.
* Build a market leading proposition over the counter, managing stock levels with operational teams.
* Develop a close relationship with the Electrical and Solar Sales Team to understand opportunities and challenges.
* Work with the Pricing team to manage selling prices in correlation with strategy and business goals.
* Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional plans within the overall Trading Plan.
* Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers as required to meet targets.
* Project manage streams of work that require a Commercial lead for the Proposition.
This is a hybrid-based opportunity with up to 3 days per week in the office.
You should be based in the UK and our Head Offices are in Crick (Northampton).
Skills and Competencies:
* Experience in category management with multiple direct routes to market.
* Strong supplier and stakeholder relationship management.
* Able to effectively lead cross-functional teams.
* Strong analytical skills for data analysis and trend identification.
* Experience in strategic planning and project management.
* Understanding of customer requirements in a B2B environment.
* Ability to propose practical business solutions.
