Maintenance Electrician (17th/18th Edition) – Glasgow City Centre – £32K-£38K

CBW is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join a well-established FM service provider, working in a prestigious commercial building in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. This role is perfect for a skilled engineer with a strong understanding of general maintenance trades and holding a 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualification. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team, ensuring the smooth operation of building systems.
The Role: As a Static Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conducting regular checks and servicing on electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Reactive Maintenance: Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain business operations.
- General Maintenance: Carrying out a variety of building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, joinery, and fabric repairs to keep the property in top condition.
- Electrical Work: Handling tasks requiring 17th/18th Edition qualifications, including testing, repairs, and installations of electrical systems.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring all tasks are carried out in line with H&S regulations, completing relevant documentation, and mitigating risks on site.
- Customer Service: Providing exceptional service to building occupants, effectively communicating updates on maintenance issues or completed work.
What You’ll Need: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A valid 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualification (essential).
- Experience in commercial building maintenance, with knowledge of both electrical and general maintenance trades.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients and team members.
- Health & Safety awareness, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and smartphones for logging jobs and reporting.
- A customer-focused mindset, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
