Cranleigh School seeks to appoint a Data Protection Lead, a pivotal role in ensuring the School remains compliant with data protection legislation and has the supporting policies and procedures in place to embed best practice in this area. Cranleigh is a leading fully co-educational independent boarding and day Senior School consisting of around 670 girls and boys of 13-18 years of age. There is also a Preparatory School in close proximity. The successful candidate will have the ability and desire to assimilate knowledge of new areas quickly, as well as being able to interrogate and translate regulations for the benefit of the School. Exceptionally strong personal communication skills and the ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects are important. Proven ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and credibility at all levels, together with knowledge and experience of data protection, are essential. The Data Protection Lead reports to and works closely with the Director of Operations and the Assistant Head, Digital Strategy. Working hours are flexible (Monday to Friday), in the region of 20 hours per week throughout the year. The salary will be in the region of £32,500 per annum pro-rated for actual hours worked.
