We are looking for two Paediatric Specialist Physiotherapists for a temporary (12 months) rotational position, offering nine monthly rotations across acute and community services.
This unique role is a chance to develop your expertise in paediatric physiotherapy, gaining experience across inpatients, outpatients, and community settings. You will be responsible for advanced assessments, diagnoses, and treatment programmes for children with a variety of conditions, as well as independently managing a caseload.

Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Speciality Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
* Manage a caseload of children and young people, conducting assessments, diagnoses, and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
* Manage clinical risks, maintain accurate records, and observe clinical guidelines.
* Participate in weekend/evening on-call duties for acute respiratory cases and ensure safe equipment use while providing training.
* Mentor junior colleagues and students, staying updated on best practices and contributing to research and service improvements.
* Provide high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring personalised treatment for each child.
Person specification
Qualifications & Training
* HPHC registration
* Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent, relevant postgraduate courses and in-service training
* Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
* Membership of the CSP
* Membership of APCP
Experience
* Variety of significant and relevant experience including respiratory care and knowledge of a broad variety of conditions.
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working with children either professionally or socially
* Significant paediatric caseload experience in an acute or community setting and including acute respiratory rotation
* Involvement in audit, research or service evaluation
* Recent experience of working within on call services
* Paediatric on call experience
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
* Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services
* Understanding of family/team dynamics and how to develop working relationships with all involved in the child’s care
* Understanding of the impact of disability/hospitalisation on children and their families
* Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and health and safety requirements in meeting the needs of the child and family
* Ability to present information, written and verbal in a clear and logical manner
* Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate appropriately
* Ability to keep accurate and legible clinical records
* Ability to cope working in a stressful environment and within emotional or challenging situations
* Problem solving approach
* Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a multi-professional team
* Knowledge of consent issues specific to paediatrics
* Simple research methodology
* Ability to organise internal/external courses
