An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Receptionist to work within the Outpatient Therapies department at Barts Health NHS Trust.
This position will be based at the Royal London Hospital and Mile End Hospital with cross cover required at both sites. This is a busy and dynamic service where we put patients at the center of the care that we provide.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills both face to face and over the phone, good organisational skills and possess a positive can-do attitude. Previous experience of working in a busy team, excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint as well as knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
The successful candidate should ideally have previous NHS experience in a similar setting and be familiar with Trust booking systems, such as EMIS and CRS. However, training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
To provide professional receptionist support to the Trust’s Therapies outpatient clinics ensuring the provision of an excellent “front of house” service. In conjunction with therapies, medical and nursing teams provide seamless inpatient/outpatient care for The Trust’s patients ensuring that all patients, relatives and visitors to the Department are dealt with in a courteous manner at all times.
To help process of patient pathways, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their treatment by the Trust. Also to ensure and participate in providing an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.

1. GCSE in Maths & English at A*-C level and A Levels or equivalent standard of education

3. Previous experience of working in a busy reception area or equivalent.
