Job Advert – Senior Estates Surveyor \n\n Client: Devon-based Council\n Job Title: Senior Estates Surveyor\n Start Date: ASAP\n Contract: Ongoing Temporary Contract\n Pay Rate: £300 - £350 per day Umbrella LTD\n \nAbout the Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Estates Surveyor to join a Devon-based Council. This role involves the commercial estate management of the Council’s diverse commercial property portfolio and providing expert property advice to other service units.\n The successful candidate will be responsible for valuations, negotiations, and property management tasks including lease grants, terminations, rent reviews, and property disposals. You will also supervise Assistant Estates Surveyors, provide property management advice, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.\n \nKey Responsibilities:\nManage the commercial property portfolio, including lease negotiations, rent reviews, renewals, and disposals.\nOversee day-to-day property management including service charges, tenant management, and repair requests.\nConduct valuations for capital accounting purposes and asset valuations.\nImplement effective management practices and ensure legal compliance.\nProvide advice to other Council units on property matters.\nSupport and mentor Assistant Estates Surveyors.\nAddress health and safety issues related to the property portfolio.Essential Skills & Experience:\nMembership or Fellowship of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).\nEligibility as a RICS Registered Valuer.\nUp-to-date knowledge of commercial property market, property law, and valuation practices.\nStrong negotiating skills and proven ability in property management.\nDemonstrated experience in valuation and estate management.\nProject management and team working skills.\nAwareness of Health & Safety legislation.\nStrong IT and communication skills.\nSupervisory and mentoring experience is desirable.\nA valid driver’s license is preferred.How to Apply: If you are interested in this role or would like to discuss other opportunities, please get in touch on (phone number removed) or via email at (url removed)
