In this role, reporting to a senior team member, you’ll oversee subcontractors to ensure safe, high-quality, and environmentally compliant delivery of construction schemes across Essex. As part of the Construction department’s capital works team, you’ll supervise projects such as machine surfacing, surface treatments, and footway reconstruction, keeping detailed records of site activities. Your experience will be key to delivering projects on time and within budget while meeting company standards and industry best practices. You’ll also collaborate closely with team members, other departments, and our supply chain to achieve these goals.
The Role
1. Supervise allocated works within the annual programme of works
2. Ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget
3. Ensure that all projects comply with Health and Safety Regulations and CDM requirements
4. Follow RJ’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures at all times
5. Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience working in the construction industry, preferably Highways.
2. Proficient in Supervision of Construction sites.
3. Experience undertaking construction work in the vicinity of underground services preferred.
4. Experience in the supervision or operation of traffic management preferred.
5. Experience with carriageway & footway construction (materials and methods) preferred.
