At Randstad, we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the best possible learning experience in a primary school within the Leeds area.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
2. Assist the teacher in delivering lessons, adapting materials to meet individual learning needs.
3. Use behaviour management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
4. Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
5. Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external specialists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
6. Support students with emotional regulation and well-being through positive reinforcement.
7. Assist with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring the dignity and comfort of students.
8. Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents to support each child's development.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
2. Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions (No Sponsorship).
3. Knowledge of SEN strategies, including autism-friendly approaches and sensory support techniques.
4. Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in an educational environment.
5. Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
6. Possess an Enhanced DBS or willingness to get one through Randstad.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists.
8. Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic classroom setting.
9. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
10. An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
