Abacus Careers are thrilled to be working with a locally owned and managed business in the creative sector as they support the current Finance Manager, and appoint an interim professional during a one year period of maternity leave. This is a really busy role but it is well supported by the 2 Directors and the 3 Accountancy Support staff, one of which is a qualified Accountant. We are seeking applications from Qualified Accountants with circa 3+ year of post-qualification experience who are able to commit to a one year contract commencing in June 2025. Starting at this time will allow the successful candidate to have the support of the current Finance Manager to complete two month end processes before they take on their leave. This position will be offered on a 3 & 2 hybrid working basis from the Belfast City Centre offices. This is a well-run department with established procedures, systems and practices. We will assume that the chosen person will be able to get up to speed quickly as they will have experienced working at this level in the past. Typical duties in the role include: Form a close working relationship with Senior Management, CEO, Managing Director, Head of Production and Head of Development Maintenance of cash management system (all aspects of banking function, bank reconciliations, opening new bank accounts, multi-currency transactions etc) Carry out month end procedures & year end procedures Preparation of statutory accounts (audit files both interim & annual), corporation tax returns Maintenance of expenses module & ensuring timely payment of said expenses to employees Preparation of DETI returns, VAT returns and other statutory returns Analysing, approving and finalising cost reports for different projects Liaising with external auditors, VAT inspectors and other external parties including key clients and financiers Weekly payment runs (domestic and international transfers) and supervision of petty cash function Preparation of project recoveries (including intercompany transactions) & project invoicing Design and preparation of management accounts and turnover projections after consultation with MD and senior management Ensuring maintenance of sales & purchase ledgers in a supervisory capacity Provide leadership to admin/finance team Preparation of any ad hoc reports & analysis If you are an experienced and qualified Accountant able to commit to a fixed term position for a one year period, starting in June of this year, please apply and we will provide you with full details.
