Due to a growing portfolio of projects and initiatives in network forecasting and capacity an opportunity has arisen within our Low Carbon Technology team to appoint a new Low Carbon Technology Engineer. As a Low Carbon Technology Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering a variety of pioneering projects and initiatives for NIE Networks within the area of network capacity and load forecasting. NIE Networks has established its Distribution System Operator (DSO) Programme to deliver the capabilities needed (people, processes and systems) to change how the electricity distribution system is developed and managed. A key part of this is the ability to forecast future capacity constraints under various scenarios, monitor network data to verify forecasts, and ultimately to provide insights as to where network investment should be targeted to create capacity, enabling greater electrification and facilitating decarbonisation.
