Purpose of the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for the leadership, supporting business development, providing Preconstruction with operational solutions, management of key infrastructure projects to appropriate H&S, time, cost and quality targets and provide strategic budget, leadership and support to project operations. The activity area targeted is East Midlands Airport but may include wider role.
Main Responsibilities
The Project Manager will oversee the operational solution for bidding key projects, support the pre-construction team during the tender process with operational leadership and oversee the successful mobilisation period and delivery of projects to scope, target cost, quality, programme and completion encompassing design, engineering, construction, handover and commercial aspects. As Project Manager you will also support the Operations Manager to develop East Midlands Opportunities ensuring all are recorded and expand on existing business quarrying and asphalt production assets to develop a contracting surfacing business.
The Project Manager will also implement a full risk and value engineering management process where all risks and cost savings opportunities are identified and actioned. You will ensure that project imperatives are clearly communicated and understood throughout the project whilst provide direction, motivation and leadership to internal and Joint Venture staff and external consultants or contractors.
As Project Manager you are responsible for all safety, health, environment and quality matters including driving excellence and championing continuous improvement. and will deliver regular reports on status of all opportunities and projects to your line manager or Head of Allied as required.
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Project Manager will have experience in the civil sector and demonstrate and deploy good contractual and commercial awareness. You will have the capability to develop client relationships and achieve business growth through regular dialogue and interaction. The Project Manager will also have strong leadership, planning and organisational qualities and be familiar with planning software such as Primavera/MS Project.
