Our client, a well-established business located in Old Hill, is in search of a Full-Time Senior Financial Controller for a permanent position. The ideal candidate must possess relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in Engineering or Manufacturing. REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the accounts function with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as a Senior Financial Controller. You will be CIMA qualified, able to work without supervision and experience of working in a high-pressured environment to deadlines, with the odd visit abroad. You will have experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

The company provides excellent working conditions with onsite parking. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays. Benefits include 24 holidays plus statutory holidays, free parking, private medical insurance, and a pension with a 4.5% contribution by the employer. The salary is up to £60,000.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director, it will be your job to ensure that the Company’s accounts, evidenced by completion of Lead Schedules, are completed within 19 days of the month end every month except for the Year End Accounts which can be completed within 28 days from the end of the month. You will also ensure that the company maintains records and supplies information to comply with all legal requirements including annual financial audit and maintain accurate Job Cost reports monthly and provide accurate and timely feedback to the Contracts Engineer and Directors monthly. It is particularly important to identify cost variances early hence the need for accurate monthly feedback and to completely update the company Cashflow monthly, bank guarantees and contract payments as they vary but at least monthly. Your role will also ensure that all letters of credit and bank guarantees are worded in such a manner as the company can comply with and to ensure that payments are achieved within the terms of the credit and/or guarantee, and that the Company applies for all necessary export licenses. You will act as the Company’s pension administrator and devise strategy and book all forward currency contracts, options, derivatives, or other financial instruments to protect and secure the Company’s exposure to foreign currency exposure. This role also includes staff management and appraisal of all staff in the Accounts Departments annually and provide feedback to ensure continual improvement. You will provide costing feedback to the sales department to permit accurate estimates to be produced and supply quarterly financial figures to the Bank. You will oversee the purchase and sales ledger, payroll account and petty cash along with other ad hoc duties.
