Graduate Controls Engineer – Cumbria – In-house/End-User – Permanent – £25-30k + 9% matched pension + private health insurance + discounted gym membership
Samuel Frank is recruiting for a graduate level Controls Engineer to work for a Cumbrian based specialist machine manufacturing company. One of the main aspects of the Controls Engineer role is PLC programming and fault-finding on existing PLC code – so graduate Control Engineers applying for the role will either need to have had some experience of PLCs as part of their studies or wider programming experience.
Key aspects of the Graduate Controls Engineer role include –
* Will be trained to program PLCs as well as gaining Electrical accreditations such as 18 th Edition
* You’ll be trained to find PLC faults and make sure they’re rectified and route cause identified
* Controls Engineer will learn how to read an interpret electrical drawings and schematics
* Ideal courses to have attended include Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Control & Automation or Robotics
* Support the engineering team in delivering Continuous Improvement projects and process improvements
* Creation of new PLC programs and software updates when required
* Successful Graduate Controls Engineer will help support the maintenance team in maintaining the plant and equipment to agreed standards
* COMPEX training will also be offered
* Academic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics – desirable, not essential, training will be arranged if needed
