We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit Controller to join our finance team. This key position involves managing and controlling balances with NHS and private hospitals, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with our healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in credit control, particularly in the healthcare sector, and will be able to manage a diverse portfolio of accounts, balancing both NHS and private hospital clients.
As a Credit Controller your responsibilities will include, although are not limited to:
1. Manage credit control processes for NHS and private hospital accounts, ensuring that payments are received in a timely manner.
2. Regularly liaise with clients, including NHS trusts and private hospitals, to resolve any payment issues or queries.
3. Process and follow up on outstanding invoices, reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
4. Review credit limits and payment terms for new and existing clients, ensuring financial risk is minimized.
5. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or disputes between accounts, working closely with the finance team and other departments.
6. Produce regular reports on aged debt and account status for management review.
7. Work proactively to reduce outstanding debt and maintain healthy cash flow.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant internal policies and external regulations related to healthcare billing.
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
1. Proven experience in credit control, ideally within the healthcare or NHS sector.
2. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients.
3. Good knowledge of financial processes, accounting software and Excel.
4. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
