As the Portfolio & PMO Manager, you’ll be instrumental in driving our business towards a digitally enabled future. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team driving new ways of working across Breedon Group.
In this role, you will drive excellence in portfolio delivery and governance, lead project managers and PMO analysts, transform business ideas into business change projects, and develop an integrated plan of change across the change roadmap. Your ability to apply various frameworks and tools related to portfolio, project, and change management will be crucial to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Planning: Aligns projects with strategic objectives and ensures the portfolio contributes to the overall organisation and Op Co’s strategic priorities.
* Transformation Delivery: Lead the coordination of project manager and PMO activity across multiple initiatives within the transformation program. Drives best practice project and change management techniques (e.g. Prince2, agile, PROSCI) and governance to deliver success.
* Resource Management: Oversee the planning of effective BTS and wider business resource allocation and utilisation of resources across projects, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
* Performance Monitoring: Evaluates the overall performance of the portfolio and ensures it delivers the expected benefits. Accountable for line management of the project managers and supports them to deliver successful outcomes.
* Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
* Portfolio Insights: Deliver high-quality reporting on portfolio performance, progress, timescales, costs, benefits to identify decisions, risks/issues, and opportunities for celebrating success.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate regular communication with divisional and BTS stakeholders to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and provide updates on project and program status.
* Financial Planning: Coordinate month-end portfolio financial reporting and ROI forecast.
* Leadership & Management: Support the creation of a strong team ethos to inspire team members to keep people at the heart of our delivery strategy.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Project & Change Management: Deep experience in project and portfolio management. Certifications in project management (e.g., Prince2), along with exposure to frameworks related to programme and service management (e.g., MSP, ITIL), and change management tools (e.g., Prosci, APMG Change Management).
* Engaging Leader: Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills with a passion for developing and managing people, fostering a culture of professionalism and teamwork to achieve the aims of the transformation roadmap.
* Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and translating complex ideas into outcomes for the business.
* Problem Solver: Highly resilient and able to balance multiple projects, provide innovative solutions, and align technology initiatives with business priorities.
