WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Data Analyst you will be at the forefront of extracting, analyzing and visualizing data from varied external and internal database sources (including our ERP) to provide stakeholders with actionable insights from market, operational, and financial data. You will be responsible for designing BI outputs that drive business decisions and operational efficiency. You will support managers across the company in their business intelligence and reporting needs. As a primary contributor to the deployment of a data warehouse solution, you will be implementing cutting-edge solutions (including artificial intelligence) to streamline the consolidation, transformation, and extraction of data. Your expertise will ensure that future reporting needs are met with precision and efficiency.
JOB DUTIES
1. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their information and knowledge requirements following a well-defined work intake process to develop effective BI solutions that drive informed decision-making. Regularly prioritize the initiatives with the stakeholders and align expectations.
2. Data Modeling and Transformation: Source/extract/download data from relevant systems/sources, clean, massage and reprocess data as needed. Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators related to master data sets for market/business awareness and insights. Design and implement robust data models.
3. Data Integration: Understand the data opportunities and constraints from various systems – public and internal data sources including custom applications, to provide a comprehensive knowledge base for management and leadership.
4. AI Knowledge Base and Agent Creation: In response to business needs, establish knowledge bases using select data and information sources for use by purpose-built, proprietary artificial intelligence agents. Design AI agents and support and guide employees to train agents in identified workflows and queries.
5. Dashboard and Report Development: Develop and maintain visually appealing and intuitive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using available platforms including Power BI. Support stakeholders with real-time insights into data related to project management, statuses, resource utilization/allocation, budget variance, time tracking and other critical metrics.
6. Performance Optimization: Optimize reports and queries to ensure fast and efficient performance, specifically when dealing with large volumes of data from multiple sources.
7. Data Quality: Implement rigorous data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used in dashboards/solutions.
8. Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, including data models, report specifications, and user guides. Provide training and support to end users to ensure they can effectively utilize BI reports and dashboards.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR relevant work experience
2. 3 years of experience working as a Power BI developer and data analyst preferably in consulting
3. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
5. Experience with data modeling techniques and best practices, particularly in the context of project management, time tracking, resource management, dashboard reporting, data extracts and other financial data
6. Proficiency in SQL & Python for data manipulation and querying, with a solid understanding of relational data structures and schema
7. Strong knowledge of software lifecycle, project management, time tracking, financial management and processes
8. Proven track record of developing insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI in an enterprise environment
9. Knowledge of Deltek and Netsuite data structures considered an asset
10. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms
11. Relevant certifications in Power BI, data engineering, or data analytics
12. Excellent customer service orientation
