Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Community Nurse within the North Cumbria Adult Eating Disorder Service (NCAEDS).
We are keen to meet applicants with experience or an interest in supporting service users with eating disorders and who can contribute to the evolving needs of the service, and the team's aspirations for future development. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to develop or expand their current knowledge and skills working within the MDT of a specialist eating disorder service.
It is essential that the applicant holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle.
Main Duties of the Job
The role will involve working in the community providing specialist assessment, evidence-based treatment, and managing complex psychological and physical health risks through psychoeducation, monitoring, and robust care and risk management planning. The successful candidate will be provided with training, supervision, and guidance to help expand on their current knowledge and skills.
The post holder will be expected to provide care coordination and treatment for service users with a primary diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Avoidant Restrictive Intake Disorder. At times, this will involve joint working with CTTs so that service users can also access support for other mental health conditions, as well as their eating disorder.
The post holder will be expected to contribute regularly to the MDT's queries and referrals to the team. There will be an expectation to provide scaffolding advice and training to other professionals outside of NCAEDS who are also supporting people with eating difficulties.
The evidence-based treatments currently offered are predominantly MANTRA/MANTRA informed therapy and Specialist Structured Clinical Management (SSCM). If the successful candidate has not had this training, these opportunities will be available.
NCAEDS covers a large geographical area spanning across North Cumbria.
