Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Senior Systems and Hardware Design Authority to join their team in Harlow. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the production of Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems and Alternative Navigation Solutions for the military market. Key Responsibilities: Providing Design Authority (DA) support across a range of APNT products Supporting Customer Programme Management Reviews, including bi-annual PMR in Georgia Managing project requirements and generating technical documentation Conducting systems analysis and hardware design Participating in technical design reviews Supporting the Systems Team in bid/proposal material generation and submission Undertaking development studies and investigation activities involving product performance Performing laboratory work for product testing and development Job Requirements: Essential Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements to project completion Proficiency in generating technical documentation from requirements capture to Declaration of Design & Performance (DDP) Understanding of change management and configuration management in a regulated industry Familiarity with policies, practices, and procedures and the ability to communicate these effectively Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics) or similar certification Strong sense of ownership, resilience, and decisiveness in providing technical direction Desirable Knowledge of GNSS systems and receiver characteristics Experience with the IBM Rational DOORS toolset (or similar) Experience with RF and Digital Hardware design and test Algorithm development and modelling experience in MATLAB/Simulink Experience with SysML or UML in a Systems Engineering environment Experience with configuration management systems Benefits: Competitive salaries 25 days holiday plus statutory public holidays, with the option to buy and sell additional days Contributory Pension Scheme (up to 10.5% company contribution) Discretionary company bonus scheme Life Assurance (6 times salary) with pension Flexible Benefits scheme including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work schemes Enhanced sick pay and family friendly policies Car or car allowance (dependent on grade and role) Private Medical Insurance (dependent on grade) If you are an experienced Senior Systems and Hardware Design Authority looking to further your career in the defence sector, we would love to hear from you.
