About the Company:
A leading player in the international technology and gaming data space, encompassing verticals in virtual sports, responsible gaming and core enterprise tech platform. The business is pushing the boundaries as a tech-advanced platform for sports content and has won numerous industry awards.
About the Role:
This is a Legal Counsel role reporting into the General Counsel, as part of a small but indispensable in-house legal team. Focused on broad commercial and data privacy matters, this position promises high quality of work, constant interaction with internal stakeholders and a fantastic overall package. Working in a fast-paced environment with internal teams such as commercial, sales and content, you will negotiate and review a wide scope of commercial agreements (including SaaS, technology licensing, MSA and data transfer agreements), while playing a key role in ensuring compliance with Data Privacy regulations. This will include GDPR compliance, DORA preparation, dealing with DSARs and the data protection provisions within complex contracts. From a gaming industry perspective, there is no requirement for further regulatory knowledge.
About You:
You will be a qualified lawyer with combined experience in commercial contracts and data privacy matters, ideally with CIPP or equivalent qualification. You will have proven experience in an in-house arena, preferably within a technology or media business. So long as candidates have sustained UK experience, the hiring manager is open to lawyers qualified in other major common law jurisdictions or the US. You will be able to work from the West London offices 2-3 days per week and you will thrive in a fast-paced technology-oriented environment. The role will ideally suit a 5-10 PQE lawyer, though candidates with relevant experience with more or less PQE will be readily considered.
This is a rare opportunity to move into a unique industry sector without specific regulatory knowledge, as another team specializes in this area. Working with a supportive manager in a high-performance team, you will earn career progression opportunities in a collaborative, international environment.
