WPP is seeking a talented and experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead a diverse range of international indirect tax projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in tax advisory, audit resolution, training, and transformation, collaborating with colleagues worldwide to strengthen and advance WPP’s global indirect tax compliance framework.
This dynamic position will provide significant exposure across the entire WPP global group, present in over 100 countries, and offers a platform for a motivated individual to become a key contributor to our team.
Working within the WPP Indirect Tax team, you will collaborate closely with finance teams across our various agency groups and our shared services organization, receiving mentorship and support from the Global Indirect Tax Director.
What you'll be doing:
* Provide indirect tax guidance to finance, commercial, accounts payable, and accounts receivable teams on day-to-day transactions.
* Advise on indirect tax implications for global contract negotiations with clients and suppliers.
* Provide tax expertise for specific projects and new initiatives, such as launching new services.
* Support the resolution of indirect tax audits with tax authorities.
* Facilitate indirect tax awareness across the business through targeted training programs.
* Deliver updates and recommendations on relevant new legislation to the business.
* Collaborate with the WPP Global Indirect Tax Director on special projects.
* Serve as a point of contact for the global shared services organization, offering indirect tax advice, resolving tax audits, developing best practices, and enhancing processes.
* Continuously improve WPP’s tax control framework for indirect tax to mitigate risk and errors.
* Advise on implementing indirect tax compliance technology, including e-invoicing in the EU.
* Support the WPP Global Indirect Tax Director with the group’s global indirect tax transformation.
What you'll need:
* Proven experience in indirect tax within large, complex organizations, including in-house experience with advisory, compliance, and transformation responsibilities.
* Experience supporting the configuration of ERP systems for indirect tax and implementing tax compliance software is a plus. We welcome candidates with experience in different systems and are committed to providing training as needed.
* In-depth technical knowledge of indirect tax with experience advising on international business transactions.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and implement process and control improvements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional language skills are welcomed.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* CTA or equivalent qualification (or equivalent experience). We encourage applications from individuals with diverse educational backgrounds.
