GSL Education is looking for a dedicated and experienced 1:2 Tutor to join our client schools in Wakefield. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working with students and making a positive impact on young learners' lives with LAC and SEMH needs.
Job summary:
As a 1:2 Tutor, you will deliver personalized tutoring sessions designed to meet the unique needs of your students. This role involves providing tailored educational support to two students, with a focus on those with Looked After Children (LAC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with them to support their academic progress and personal development, ensuring a positive and nurturing learning environment.
As a 1:2 Tutor, your key responsibilities are to:
* Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions to two students, focusing on their individual learning needs.
* Develop and implement personalized learning plans for the students.
* Monitor and assess student progress, provide regular feedback, and adjust teaching strategies, as necessary.
* Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the students to build their confidence and motivation.
As a 1:2 Tutor, essential requirements include:
* Proven experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) and students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
* Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications.
* Strong understanding of the educational and emotional needs of LAC and SEMH students.
* A proactive and adaptable way to deal with students and their needs.
* An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
