The chosen Senior Procurement Consultant applicant will have the chance to work with an accomplished team compromising specialist procurement personnel, specialist consultants, as well as a wider team providing claims management, dispute resolution and contract strategy services.
As a Procurement Manager, there will also be an exciting opportunity to work with market-leading clients to provide full procurement services from beginning to end, with a chance to travel both nationally and internationally to help organise commissions.
Flexible remote working is supported on the basis that candidates understand that there will need to be regular weekly visits to the office for specific meetings and tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Perform the obligations of a Procurement Manager and Contracts Consultant
2. To manage procurement services on substantial construction related projects from beginning to end.
3. Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to both private and public sector clients.
4. Support the growth of the procurement services provided.
5. To help with marketing and business development of the division.
6. To support on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work winning capability of the contract services division.
7. To support the execution of both team and wider business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
8. Extensive experience across the full procurement lifecycle, including tender preparation and development as well as strategy development.
9. Experience of various forms of contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
10. Contract development and contract drafting; terms, negotiation and award.
11. Experience in Public and/or Utilities Contract Regulations procurement.
12. Market engagement.
13. Supply chain intelligence and supplier relationship management.
14. Commercial development
15. Experience utilising e-procurement software.
16. Ideally have worked projects valued over £50m.
17. Good communication skills, adaptable and an ambition to succeed.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
18. Ideally a BSc in Quantity Surveying, law, procurement or civil engineering or a degree in another construction related field.
19. Preferably MCIPS qualified.
