View to go permanent for the successful candidate Competitive rate: I am working in partnership with a Specialist School in York who require additional staff to join their lovely school. The successful applicants would be supporting their pupils with Multiple Learning Difficulty and Autism. The school require staff, initially on a short-term basis until the October half-term, however, the view is to move onto a school contract towards the end of the Autumn Term. The school caters for children aged between 11-18 years old with special educational needs including Moderate, Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorders. The school prides themselves on nurturing their pupils and providing a safe, happy, and healthy learning environment in which they can thrive. They celebrate all that their pupils achieve and help, support and challenge them to progress along the journey from school to adulthood. Within this role, you would be expected to appropriately support pupils in class and during breaks/lunch time. You may be needed to provide 1:1 support for pupils however the role is predominantly required to provide general support. You may also be required to provide personal care for the children. The school are keen to consider a variety of staff in terms of experience, you may have experience as an SEN support assistant, or be a graduate looking for experience in specialist provision, maybe you have current or prior experience support/care worker etc. Ideally if you have supported individuals with additional needs, that would be desirable however this is not essential to be successful.
