Required from September 2025, (although a May half term start date would be considered for a handover) we are seeking to welcome a dedicated, highly competent and compassionate SENDCo to our thriving school. Whilst the SENDCo role does not have any direct teaching responsibilities, for the right candidate, we would consider increasing the contract up to 1 FTE to include up to 2 teaching days. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, and being directly accountable to the Co-Headteachers, we require someone who can inspirationally lead and manage the SEND of the school’s pupils to ensure every pupil’s needs are met. This will include the overall responsibility and strategic development of the SEND policy, including oversight of the day-to-day operation, with the aim of raising all pupils’ attainment and achievement. In this role, you will work closely with our Family Liaison and Attendance Officer and our dedicated Thrive and ELSA Practitioners. The ability to build effective relationships with pupils and their families will be essential. An experienced SENDCo with a proven track record and the NASENCo Award would be preferable, although training will be supported for the right candidate. As an alternative designated safeguarding lead, you will support our safeguarding efforts, provide guidance and support to children and families facing personal challenges, and collaborate with staff and external agencies to deliver the highest standards of care.
