This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire & Security Service and Installation Engineer at Guide Security, predominantly working in the North West. As an Engineer you will be responsible for installation, commissioning & maintaining Fire & Security Systems Guide Security was established in 1996, we specialise in Design, Installation, Maintenance and Remote Monitoring of Fire & Security solutions across various sectors in the UK. Our independence from manufacturers allows us to deliver tailored security services with a value-added approach. Key Responsibilities Installation & Commissioning of small to large scale projects. Fault finding, attending emergency callouts, routine maintenance & reactive works on Fire & Security disciplines. The role will require reviewing specifications, drawings & documents to plan & ensure smooth delivery of works is carried out. Complete electronic worksheets, timesheets and mileage/expense claims Health and safety training will be provided Ensure all relevant engineering practices are adhered to - report any inconsistencies to a senior engineer or your line manager. Ensure good timekeeping and housekeeping at all times. Escalate to your supervisor or a senior engineer and the office if delays or difficulties are encountered such as traffic delays/vehicle problems resulting in late/non-attendance. Whilst on site update the site logbooks with details of all work carried out. Maintain company issued equipment in good condition and fit for purpose. Report immediately any damaged, stolen or missing company issued equipment to your Service Supervisor. Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook. Advise your line manager of progress/concerns on any contract/site you are involved with through telephone updates and followed up with regular email. Develop effective Client relationships Correctly represent the company in company issued clothing. Attend training courses to extend knowledge and skillset of various manufacturers products. Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company employee handbook. The role will involve some working at heights (training will be provided) Key Skills And Competencies Proven experience in the Fire & Security Industry. Good understanding of BS & EN standards Ability to communicate with both external and internal customers in a professional and consistent manner. Proven ability to install, test, commission & maintain Fire Alarm, Security Systems, Access Control, CCTV & Intruder Systems. Good fault-finding skills. Computer Literate, good general IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word. To have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Good verbal and written communication skills To have the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers and outside bodies. Good organisational and time management skills. To have an understanding and ability of software programming on products such as; Samsung, Axis, Honeywell, inc Galaxy, Texecom, Paxton, Morley, Advanced, Kentech etc. Use initiative and have attention to detail considering the industry we work in.
