Applications are invited from enthusiastic, lively and motivated, qualified sonographers who would be interested in working within our highly skilled, multi-disciplinary teams in the Ultrasound Departments at Royal Wolverhampton Trust, based at New Cross and Cannock Hospitals.
All We Ask From You Is To
Be HCPC registered and have an accredited post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound. Experience is essential as the role requires independent reporting on scans, however some training may be available to develop your skills. Main duties of the job
To provide a high-quality ultrasound service with comprehensive independently written reports. The department provides a range of ultrasound examinations on patients with multiple complex pathologies. Scans performed include:
1. Upper abdominal
2. Renal
3. Gynaecology
4. Obstetrics
5. Small parts
6. MSK
7. DVTs
8. Carotids
It is not expected that an individual will have all of the necessary expertise; however, further training may be available to successful candidates. There is a requirement to work across our main site at New Cross Hospital and also our satellite unit at Cannock Hospital where a new CDC facility opened in September 2024.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Qualification in Medical Ultrasound
* Significant relevant experience working as a sonographer in a large trust
Desirable
* Post graduate qualification e.g. MSC in Ultrasound
Communication Skills Essential
* Please give a short example (less than 200 words) describing your ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Sonographers, Midwives, GPs, Nurses and other healthcare workers when discussing patient management.
* Describe your understanding of ethical and moral issues surrounding the delivery of highly sensitive and at times distressing information to the patients.
